More About Us
Formerly known as Dee River Kayaking, we have rebranded to Paddle the Dee in 2025 to welcome Stand Up Paddleboarding into our offering alongside Kayaking.
Our goal at Paddle the Dee is to make river exploration accessible to all. We do this by offering truly beginner friendly kayaking and paddleboarding experiences on both white water rapids and gentle flat water sections of the river Dee, our activities are truly unique.

All of our instructors and guides are qualified to deliver these services through British Canoeing Awarding Body.

Charity Challenges
We love to support local charities whether thats through offering discounts on our services or helping to facilitate Charity Paddle Challenges to raise money for a charity.

Over the past few years we've hosted a number of Charity Paddles from Farndon to Chester, an impressive 11 mile trip! For these trips we provide safety cover and instruction so that people new to kayaking / paddleboarding can take this challenge on a raise money.

If you'd be interested in setting up a challenge like this for a charity that you support then please get in touch.

The River Dee
The River Dee, or Afon Dyfrdwy as it is known at it's source, originates high in the mountains of Snowdonia, flows across North Wales navigating great lakes, beautiful meandering flats, man-made waterfalls, and natural rapids with whitewater from grade 1 to grade 4. The Dee is then the border between Wales and England before it heads into Cheshire and through the heart of the City of Chester and onto the Sea.
Why we love this river
The Dee Valley is filled with treats for would-be adventurers, such as Whitewater Rafting experiences, stunning hiking routes and cultural experiences such as the Llangollen Steam Railway or Canoeing across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
The Dee is the perfect river to come to for your first kayaking or stand up paddleboarding (SUP) adventures. In Chester we can follow the river downstream as the Dee meanders a path past famous historic 1st century roman walls and even meets the tide coming in from the Sea. Further upstream in Llangollen the river cascades down the valley in an amazing series of white water rapids which provides the ideal playground for novice and advanced paddlers alike.
